Worst mom ever!!!

I am the worst mom ever. EVER!!!!!

Today is my baby's birthday. He's 12 today. What did I get for him?? NADA What kind of deal did I do for him. Big fat NOTHING.

With this move his birthday got pushed to the back of our minds.

I did get him the box set of the Spider Wick Cronicle books. And I got him Starcraft for the computer, and a little dragon treasure box and dragon beach towel. But I was gonna get him like an mp3 or Ipod or something like Guitar Hero. I heard they have it for playstation 2. Is that right?? I dunno.

But I can't even find the dang presents right now. And I haven't bought any of the other stuff yet. I don't have a cake or anything.

So...he wanted sloppy Joe's we are gonna have that tonight and probably go get a milkshake. Then on Saturday we may see if big J can go to the early movie and take them. Then maybe after have Big J's family over for bbq hamburgers. Then the following saturday will probably do a family dinner with all the extended family.

Any how. I'm just a big bowl of steaming suck right now.

I hope my baby forgives me.

He'll have a good birthday. I'm sure he understands.

Awww you're a good mom and at 12 he surely understands with the move going on, it's a bit chaotic right now. Kids are great. They're happy and thrilled to celebrate birthday's any time of the year :o)

Happy birthday to your son! Best wishes for a great year.
Of course he understands! You did get him things and you'll find them. And you're having din together and out after for a shake. Sounds like fun to me! You are a good Mom!
So have a happy Mother's Day on Sunday too!

joy--yeah he's sucking it up about me feeling guilty and he's got three dinners planned out of me so far.

Crystal--yup we are gonna go pick him up a couple other things tonight, so that will be good.

It doesn't sound like a bad birthday. If you want to give him a bad birthday, deduct the cost of his gifts from his allowance – with interest for slow payment. But I will take Sloppy Joes ANYTIME for any occasion.

coffey--that would be cruel, seeing as he doesn't get allowance. I don't believe in it. I don't believe in paying a child for just being there. They have to earn money.

You gifts you got him sound great! Of course an MP3 player and guitar hero are a LOT of fun also, but don't beat yourself up. Surely he understands with the move and all. Sloppy joes sound yummy!!

Don't feel bad. Some years are better than others...that's life, and it's important for kids to understand that. As long as you make him feel loved, that's most important.

That cake was so sad looking!! lol Oh, yah, don't forget a cake...that would be unforgivable!

answer to your question:
No, the cheese isn't melted, just grated in with the onion and pepper. It's an interesting dip, give it a try sometime.

rhea--I already asked him what kind of cake he wanted. Cake is up on the list.

crystal--I will try that some time.

Happy birthday kiddo!
And Mama? You labored on his original b day and again on his 12th, you should get the prize. Hee. Wait, that is Sunday. He might get you back.
Well you getting him "nothing"? Lady that is more than I got on any given birthday. I think you are like me and have the OCS (only child syndrome) and we have spoiled the pooie outta them. If he complains, tell him about the poor little kids in (pick your foreign country). If that doesn't work, put him to work or pull his lip over the top of his head to recreate how you felt 12 years ago.

hee.
You know I love you. You are a great Mama, he will understand the delay.

Give yourself a break.....you just moved.......he will wait, I have a 13 year old, and I know if I asked him, he would wait till I was up to it. I remember the year we moved right at Christmas, it was such a tiring time. We just went to Toys r us, and I let them pick out their own christmas. I didn't even wrap anything or put up a tree. They didn't mind.

I think having his favorite for dinner and then milkshakes is a great way to celebrate! It shows mommy is thinking about him and caring about his special day. The presents can come a few days late. Happy Birthday to him!
